WILL YOU RESPOND TO GOD'S LOVE?

Do you desire to place your life in God's loving hands?

God longs for that. And being a Christian is not about following a set of rules, or even a set of rites and traditions, nor even just about going to church. Being a Christian means becoming a friend of God, a child fo God, having a personal relationship with the only, true living God. Becoming a Christian simply means starting this relationship.

What does the Bible say about how to be saved? As you've read on the postcard, through revelation direct from Jesus, Paul said:

If with your mouth you confess Jesus as Lord and in your heart believe that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.  (Romans 10:9)

All you have to do is believe this to start a personal relationship with God, and to say so out loud.  Say it in your own words, there is no special formula. Just speak from the heart. But if you're not sure what to pray, here are words that will help you:

"Dear God, I'm sorry for the bad things I've done in my life. I truly repent. I believe that your Son Jesus died on the cross in my place, and that his death was punishment for my sins, he did for me what I could not do for myself. I am truly grateful that, through his sacrificial death, I am completely forgiven and saved. I believe that you raised Jesus from the dead. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit who will help me to live my life in a way that pleases  you. Thank you for loving me, Father, and that there is nothing that can now separate us, for all eternity.  Amen."

If you prayed this prayer from your heart, the Bible says you are 'born again', you have been born spiritually, 'of the Spirit' (John 3), and now there is no barrier of sin between you and God! You have been reconciled to him and no-one and nothing can ever pluck you from his hand! How wonderful! It is the best decision you have ever made in your life!

Welcome to the family of God!

Now there are a few important things you need to do:

  • Tell another Christian of your decision for Jesus. (If you don't know another Christian, send me an email through the Contact page on this site.)

  • Find a church (a group of believers in Jesus) where they really believe in the Bible

  • Be baptised by total immersion - separating you from your sinful past

  • Get a Bible e.g. the New International Version (NIV), or New King James Version (NKJV)

  • Begin to pray. Prayer is simply talking in a natural way to God, your heavenly Father, from your heart.

Did you know that for every person who accepts Jesus as their Saviour the angels have a party in heaven! The Bible says so!

Welcome to the family of God!  Alleluia!

"You are precious to me."
